We are dedicated to the Art of Jiu Jitsu brought to Brazil by Mitsuyo Maeda in the early 1900's, taught to the Gracie Family and spread to the United States and around the world.

KYOSHI VERNON MASON
Owner Mason's Martial Arts Academy; 8th degree Black Belt in Shorin-Ryu. Kyoshi Mason is a legendary kickboxer and senior-most Shorin-Ryu black belt in Hampton Roads. He is as old-school as it gets with a lineage that is directly connected to the original Okinawa dojos. Kyoshi keeps the old ways alive in Smithfield with a fighters pedigree that is unmatched across the Eastern seaboard
